About me
My name is Jamie and I’m passionate about improving people’s lives through the mindful, creative and intelligent utilization of our human potential. I’ve been working with individuals and organizations for the last 14 years to help them make the most of themselves and have a positive impact upon the world.
I’m driven by a genuine curiosity in people’s lives and empathy for their struggles. I know from personal experience that plans don’t always work out, things take you down and it’s easy to end up with life’s leftovers. It’s taken a long time to stake a claim for who I am, what’s important and how I’d like show up in the world. Indeed, probably like most of us, I’m a work in progress.
I was led to coaching by a genuine desire to help people have better lives, to save them the years of unfulfilled wandering and wondering and instead, embody the most essential version of themselves. By making a stand for who we are and what is important to us, we also make this more available to others and build a better world.
About the name
In the Brazilian Martial Art, Capoeira. The Roda (“circle” or “wheel”) is the space where you engage with another person and play the game. By stepping in, you agree to see and be seen, to bring everything you have, regardless of how skilled (or not) you think you are, and discover what can be created together. I loved this idea and think it applies brilliantly to coaching. Taking that first step to live deliberately, to participate in life as fully as possible and courageously make the most of what we’ve got, even if we feel the odds are stacked against us. It’s through this that we transform ourselves and everything around us.
